Happy Monday!  It’s Sneak Peek time again and I can’t wait to show you my projects this week!  I love all things from fall to winter…and we have it covered!

For today’s card, I used the Color Block Cutting Plate with a variety of new products.  Look how cute this stamp is!  It’s called Wishes on a Wire and it’s so simple and sweet.  Recognize the snowflake die?  It was released last year and is still one of my favorites, Make a Snowflake.  I added a single sequin from Gingerbread Lane Sequins and Little Bits Candy Cane and Little Bits Holly.  All patterned paper and card is from Matched Gingerbread Lane Kit.  You’re going to love this month’s kit!

ShellyWishesonaWireMon1

I love the “Merry Xmas” strung between the houses…doesn’t it look cozy?

ShellyWishesonaWireMon2

I’m smitten with the Little Bits collection.  This is an extra special sneak peek as Little Bits won’t be featured until tomorrow. I couldn’t help but add a little bling to my snowflake, candy cane and holly.

ShellyWishesonaWireMon3

My 2nd card today uses Deck the Halls. How cute is this penguin? Ugh…there are so many cute images in this set!  This little guy, getting the string of lights ready is too much!  How do you like Snow Globe?  It’s a stamp set that also has a coordinating die, wonderful for scenes like this or for shaker cards.

ShellyDecktheHallsMon1The little ornaments outside of Snow Globe are perfect accents.  I had a left over snowflake from Make a Snowflake and couldn’t resist adding it.

ShellyDecktheHallsMon3

See the snow falling in the background?  It’s also a new release and a new embossing folder…Snowfall.  I super love this embossing folder!  I added a bit of white embossing powder to the embossed areas to make it stand out.

ShellyDecktheHallsMon4

And finally, I added a bit of shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.  I love the subtle shimmer it adds…and it brings my card to life.

Happy Birthday!

It’s Party Time!  Fall is a busy time of year for me, two of my kids have birthdays (six days apart) in the fall and I have 3 siblings with fall birthdays…not to mention friends and extended family members.  Yikes!  It’s time to pump out the birthday cards!  Today’s card uses mainly dies, called Party Time.  How appropriate!  lol!

ShellyPartyTime9.26.14.1

I used Matched Double the Fun Kit for my presents, Double the Fun Boy sequins and Double the Fun Girl, sequins.  I’m loving the monster washi tape…such fun little party monsters and so cute too!

ShellyPartyTime9.26.14.2

Love the look of the scattered sequins and the colorful confetti!  This card was so easy to create by using the Matched Kit and coordinating sequins!

Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone, Halloween is right around the corner, and I have a fun Halloween card to share.  Today’s card uses an adorable Halloween set, Halloween Doodles, and the Spiders and Web dies.  I die cut each spider twice and used a 3D foam square (cut smaller) to add dimension to my spiders.  A white gel pen was perfect for they eyes.

ShellyHalloween8.22.1

The background paper is from our new Matched Hocus Pocus paper pack.  This paper pack is awesome and full of fun, Halloween designs for your Halloween projects.  I embossed the spider web and sentiment, and added color by airbrushing the web with Copics.  I love purple for Halloween!

Embossed Feathers

I love my Feather die from We R and thought I’d create a card that uses those feathers along with the Feather Embossing Folder.  Let’s take a look at the cast of characters for today’s card…

Sept2014.1

I used half of a Fabriano Medioevalis note card to emboss the feathers on.  This is excellent paper for watercoloring and is so textured and yummy to work with.  These embossing folders rock!  They are 6×6 and nice and large, perfect for covering a whole card or 6×6 page.

Sept2014.2

Let’s take a closer look at how gorgeous this impression is.  The embossing is nice and crisp, without tearing the paper.

Sept2014.3

Now it’s time to run the feather die through.  I used wood paper and wrapped a bit of twine around them for a nice, earthy, look.  I know my die looks a bit beat up, however, that’s what makes these dies so awesome….they take a beating and still cut perfectly!

Sept2014.4

I used a wash of yellow and red for my background and love how the two colors work together.  These watercolors are Kuretake Gansai Tambi and come in different sized sets.  This one is a set of 36 and the colors are rich, vibrant, and lush!

Sept2014.5

Sept2014.6

The last step was to adhere my watercolored feathers and feather die cuts to my card.

Sept2014.8

What do you think?  I really enjoyed creating this card and can see this being done in a variety of colors, each with the same, beautiful, effect.

Sept2014.7

Happy Birthday!

Happy Friday! I’m back with some fun mini cards that are perfect for a quick birthday note.  Our challenge this month was to use Taylored Expressions Pinterest board as inspiration.  There is a whole lotta inspiration there and it was hard to choose just one, but I did!  I used Charmaine’s card as my inspiration and love how she used the Zig Zag embossing folder with the Up Up & Away cutting plate.

2c86156f7f769f7acb03d42b11ef88db

I wanted to make mini 3×3 cards and keep some of the same elements.  I love how color pops with a white background so it was a no brainer to make my balloons colorful and keep the rest of the card white.  I used the adorable Scalloped Notecard as my card base and love how the Zig Zag embossing folder paired with it!

ShellyPinterest9.19.14.1

Look at how crisp the zig zags are.  Can’t beat an embossing folder that gives such gorgeous lines….wow!

ShellyPinterest9.19.14.3

I used a Wink of Stella glitter pen to add a bit of sparkle.  Love the soft shimmer of these balloons!

This is my card for the Sketch Challenge.  I’m not one to add a lot of layers and so, for me, this was an excellent sketch to get me out of my comfort zone!  I used Mischief Maker Carried Away for my card and was I ever pleased with how well this cutie worked with the sketch!  Up Up & Away Cutting Plate’s balloons were perfect for the birthday theme and having the extra balloon die cuts were wonderful.

ShellyCarriedAwayWed1

The background paper is from Matched Double the Fun.  This paper pack was thought out so well in that it comes in a hang bag so you can store all your left over scraps together!  No more worrying about the paper pads coming apart because these paper packs are single loose sheets!  Below you can see where I added a few of the matching sequins, Double the Fun Matching Sequins.

Another view of the balloons from Up Up & Away Cutting Plate.  Balloons on cards make me happy!

Here is my selfie with my card.  Unfortunately, trying to get a shot in my house with my 4 kids not distracting me, means that it isn’t the best selfie in the world.  Ha!  :)

My second card uses Big Bold Halloween and this set is perfect for cards that speak for themselves.  LOL!  I added a few die cuts from Little Bits Halloween Scene and Little Bits Witch Hat.  Did I mention how much I love the Little Bits dies?  They are always the perfect accent or detail for your cards or projects and I use mine almost daily!

ShellyBigBoldHalloweenWed1

Why, hello little spider!  Background paper is Matched Hocus Pocus…you’ll love the patterns this pack has!
