Hey, guys, it’s Release Day and all of the new products are available!  I can’t tell you how much I loved this release and all the fun I had with it!  Today’s post uses Berry Special and Little Bits Fruit for my mini 3×3 cards.

ShellyBerrySpecialThurs1

I used Bead Board Embossing Folder for two of my mini cards.  I just think these Little Bits Fruit dies are the sweetest! Build a Tag 2 provided the cute squares for the fruit.

Inside each of the cards are the sentiments that match them.  Who wouldn’t love to find one of these notes tucked away somewhere?

Hi guys!  I hope you’re having as much fun as I am this week!  Today I’m sharing this popsicle card….and the cool thing is, this is from a new set of dies, Popsicle Stacklets!  You can make lots of fun sizes of popsicles…and they are so darn cute! Who wouldn’t love to have (and eat!) an orange popsicle?  Dreamsicle?  Yum yum!  I used Bead Board Embossing Folder and Rainbow Scallop Border as my background.

ShellyPopsicleStackletsWed1

Guess what?  There’s a little surprise…

ShellyPopsicleStackletsWed2

I made my popsicle to have a special message in it.  The sentiment is from Sip Sip Hooray.

My second card uses Peek A Boo Circles and I am in love with this die!  I decided to use Wild About You with Mini Leaves.

ShellyPeekaBooCirclesWed1

The leaves and Doodlebug Sprinkles add some fun elements to my card!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek: Underwater & Sack It Crab

Hi guys, I can hardly believe Release Week is here again, but here we are!  I know you’re going to love this month’s release as it is filled with fun summer projects!

My first project uses a previously released stamp set, Under the Sea, which now have dies that match!  Whoop whoop!  If you have this stamp set,  you may want to add the Under the Sea Die Combo…look how fun my sea critters are!  I created my scene with the help of Build a Scene Underwater and Build a Scene Rolling Waves.  I couldn’t believe how fun this card was to make!

ShellyUnderwaterMon1

Build a Scene Underwater has all these fun little dies to complete your underwater scene…seaweed, grass, shells…so perfect with Build a Scene Rolling Waves!  Look at my 2nd wave, see those awesome bubbles?  I embossed that wave with Bubbles Embossing Folder...I love the texture it adds to the wave!

ShellyUnderwaterMon2

In keeping with the sea theme, take a look at this super cute new Sack It die.  Introducing Sack It Crab!  Crab!  I was SO excited to see this new addition.  My son is a hermit crab master and loves all things hermit crab related.  He immediately wanted a crab cut out for him to make.  I was more than happy to oblige!  I added a few pixie sticks to my crab sack and the kids have had fun getting their treats from their friendly crab!

ShellySackItCrabMon1

I decorated the crab with Build a Scene Underwater and Build a Scene Rolling Waves…how could I not?  :)

God Bless America…

ShellyStarBorder5.26.1

Hi guys, I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend!  I’m back with a fun card that uses some great dies…perfect for all your summer cards!  I love the Star Border die and have used it on cards for younger kids, but thought it would be fun to use it differently.  Today’s card would work well for Memorial Day or the 4th of July!

ShellyStarBorder5.26.3

I like a little sparkle in my projects and die cut Star Border twice, once for the red outline and a second time using glitter tape.  It gives it a nice, sparkly, look without being over the top.  The patterned paper is from Summer Nights Matched Kit and the sentiment is from Of Thee I Sing.

ShellyStarBorder5.26.2

I also used Little Bits Uncle Sam and Little Bits Flag.  Do you have any of Little Bits dies?  They are my favorite…so cute and perfect to use as main focus points and/or accents!  Here I used glitter tape for more sparkle, I love the festive look!

ShellyStarBorder5.26.4

Hope you all have a wonderful week, thanks for stopping by!

Just a Note – Pinterest Inspiration

Hi everyone, I’m back to share my card using the Taylored Expression Boards on Pinterest as my inspiration! It was hard to choose as there are so many gorgeous projects to choose from.  However, I ended up picking THIS card from the super sweet and talented Taylor.  The gold foiling is so beautiful, it was easy to be inspired by her card…here’s a peek at her gorgeous card:

aa

For my card I used Just A Note dies and used Mega-Flake in Lancaster Rose for my foiling.  Can I say WOW!  And what an amazing product!  This technique is a little messy (note to self, turn off ceiling fan) but the results are so worth it.  I’ll share a few tips below on how I was able to make this work with smaller dies.  The sentiment is from Rock My World…a perfect combination with the dies.  I added the hearts and stars from Stamp of Approval and I was on my way to creating my card.

ShellyPinterest5.19.2

Mega-Flake in Lancaster Rose has so many gorgeous colors in it…I love the orange and red with the gold in this mix.

ShellyPinterest5.19.4

To do smaller pieces or dies that are intricate, I put double sided tape on some card stock.  I peeled off protective layer and put the gold flakes on top of the sticky part.

ShellyPinterest5.19.5

Once you have the adhesive covered with the flakes, I gently “scrubbed” in a circular motion using Scoochy Foam.  Here is a larger piece I used that shows the flakes, before and after the Scoochy Foam.  The results are stunning!

ShellyPinterest5.19.10

Back to my smaller piece.  :)

ShellyPinterest5.19.7

Once your piece is smoothed out, just place your die on top of the foiled piece and run it through your die cutter.

ShellyPinterest5.19.8

Cuts like buttah!

ShellyPinterest5.19.9

It’s hard to truly capture how pretty this is in person…I’ll be using this technique for a few more projects!

Taylored Expressions Release Day: Argyle Cutting Plate

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.

TECircleLogoPartyHat1

It’s Release Day and ALL of the new products are now available!  Whoop whoop!  My last project for Release Week uses a gorgeous new cutting plate, Argyle.  I fell in love with this cutting plate as soon as I saw it and knew I wanted to use Salt Water Taffy and Earl Grey with it.  I love summery, nautical things and decided to use the sentiment from Punny Man and the Little Bits Anchor.

Argyle

I braided jute twine for my rope and glued it into place.  Build a Tag 4 was a nice touch with Blue Corn card stock (this is one of my favorite card stock colors!) and kept the rest pretty simple.
