Cards, Stamping, Die Cutting, Paper Crafting, Digital Cutting & More!

Season’s Greetings

Hi everyone, it’s almost November and I have Christmas cards on the brain!  Do you send out handmade cards or buy them?  I do a little of both, it depends on how much time I’ve had to make them.  :)

Today I have a card that is both elegant and relatively easy to put together.  I used the holly dies from Very Merry Outlines. The dies in this set are so cute and have coordinating and stamps dies to layer them with.  I stamped the die cuts with Very Merry and you can choose between a few coordinating stamps for the holly.  I love the Sheet Music embossing folder and used it for my background.

I used Gingerbread sequins for the berries and also added several to the background for a little extra bling.  It adds a nice sparkly element to the card.

I stampe my sentiment onto my banner and adhered it with 1/8″ double sided tape.  A little glitter tape helped hide the adhesive from being seen through the vellum.  Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Autumn Treat Bags

Hi everyone, it’s my turn to post and I’m using Pinterest for today’s inspiration!  I browsed the Taylored Expressions Pinterest boards and came across THIS project, made by the uber talented (and super sweet!), Shannon!  I just loved how earthy her cards are…the colors are gorgeous and the these cards are CAS!

For my project I decided to use these adorable muslin treat bags.  They are perfect for tucking a few treats into.

ShellyPinterest10.19.14.1

I happened to use mini Milky Way and Snickers bars.  Snickers are my go to snack when I need a pick me up and I usually have a stash in my craft room to keep me going.

I used Mega Leaves and die cut each leaf twice…once in white, and once more in a contrasting color, and layered them together.  I added burlap trim and love the different colors they come in!

Who wouldn’t love to get a pretty treat bag like this?  I think they’re adorable and even a fun craft for the kids to make!

Hi guys, I’m back with a sweet gratitude card that could also be customized with other sentiments. Here’s today’s cast of characters, Feather Embossing Folders, Banner It Kit and the Rose Shape Die.

Oct2014.1

I started out by running my card stock through the Evolution with the embossing folder.  Guess what?  All the embossing folders are 20% off right now…and if you use my code POP, you’ll receive an extra 20% off at checkout.

Oct2014.2

My next step was to cut the banner.  I cut the bottom layer out of card stock that coordinates with the rose and layering piece.

Oct2014.4

Here’s how the banner will look layered.

Oct2014.5

Next I die cut and assembled the rose.

Oct2014.6

You can stamp any sentiment in the banner area…mine is from Chit Chat (Paper Smooches).

Oct2014.7

Here’s the completed card.  I love how dies and embossing folders can create a quick and easy card.  You can use any combination of colors, papers and sentiments to create a truly customized look!

We Give Thanks

ShellyThanksgivingSept8.1

October has arrived and so have all those beautiful Autumn colors and decorations.  My card was inspired by all the gorgeous colors and I thought this image was perfect for today’s card!  I colored the image with Copics and maybe got a little carried away with my Wink of Stella pen…the shimmer this pen has is amazing!

ShellyThanksgivingSept8.2

I colored and fussy cut an extra pumpkin and added it to the scene and used a foam square to adhere it.

Poinsettia Ornament

Hi guys, I fell in love with the winter release from Memory Box and had to buy some the new dies.  Eeek!  I guess you could call this card a follow up to THIS card, from 2012 (where does the time go?).  I love the clean lines these images have and kept my color simple by adding a Poinsettia.  I used glitter tape for the holly and berries on the ornament and let the rest speak for itself.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how to really use the Poinsettia, but decided to layer it and offset the outline a bit.

Taylored Expressions Release Day!

ShellyCampyChristmasThurs1

It’s Release Day and ALL of the new products are now available at Taylored Expressions!  13 stamps sets, 5 coordinating dies, 9 Little Bits dies, 3 embossing folders and Matched Gingerbread Paper Pack, Kit and Sequins!  Whew!  That’s a lotta goodness ready to greet you at your mailbox!

Today’s card uses a little bit of everything.  Ha!  The stamps are Campy Christmas and Share the Light.  Campy Christmas is so cute!  These critters are utterly adorable and I had fun creating this scene!  I used Evergreen and die cut them out of felt and used a Wink of Stella glitter pen for shimmer on the bulbs.

ShellyCampyChristmasThurs3

I couldn’t help but try and add a little bit of everything for my last card.  I really fell in love with this release and hope you did too!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek: Seasonal Trees & Scarecrow

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.  TECircleLogoPartyHat1 It’s Wednesday and Day 3 of our sneak peeks!  Today I have a sweet die that features Seasonal Trees.  It’s a little smaller than the size of regular cutting plate, but that makes it perfect for layering.  My card also features Evergreens…a set of 2 evergreen dies, and at the bottom of my card, Ice Border.  I love this border and think it adds such a nice, wintery, feel to my card. ShellySeasonalTreesWed1 I sponged ink on the trees and used a white gel pen to add a tiny bit of snow to the trees.  The sentiment is from Sparkle & Cheer and it fit perfectly on my Banner Stacklets 1 die. ShellySeasonalTreesWed2 I added white glitter to the trees and it gives my card a nice, wintery, sparkle.  Gotta love sparkly snow!  :)  Below is also a nice, close up of Ice Border.  This border would also look great blinged out! ShellySeasonalTreesWed3 My 2nd project used a new Sack It die….Sack It Scarecrow!  I made a little goody bag and a matching card.  I used felt for my scarecrow and I love the Autumn colors and feel the felt adds.  The dies cut very cleanly with this felt and the colors were spot on.  I used Bloomin’ Stacklets 1 for the flower and added a button and tied it with hemp.
