Just a Note – Pinterest Inspiration

Hi everyone, I’m back to share my card using the Taylored Expression Boards on Pinterest as my inspiration! It was hard to choose as there are so many gorgeous projects to choose from.  However, I ended up picking THIS card from the super sweet and talented Taylor.  The gold foiling is so beautiful, it was easy to be inspired by her card…here’s a peek at her gorgeous card:

For my card I used Just A Note dies and used Mega-Flake in Lancaster Rose for my foiling.  Can I say WOW!  And what an amazing product!  This technique is a little messy (note to self, turn off ceiling fan) but the results are so worth it.  I’ll share a few tips below on how I was able to make this work with smaller dies.  The sentiment is from Rock My World…a perfect combination with the dies.  I added the hearts and stars from Stamp of Approval and I was on my way to creating my card.

Mega-Flake in Lancaster Rose has so many gorgeous colors in it…I love the orange and red with the gold in this mix.

To do smaller pieces or dies that are intricate, I put double sided tape on some card stock.  I peeled off protective layer and put the gold flakes on top of the sticky part.

ShellyPinterest5.19.5

Once you have the adhesive covered with the flakes, I gently “scrubbed” in a circular motion using Scoochy Foam.  Here is a larger piece I used that shows the flakes, before and after the Scoochy Foam.  The results are stunning!

Back to my smaller piece.  :)

Once your piece is smoothed out, just place your die on top of the foiled piece and run it through your die cutter.

Cuts like buttah!

It’s hard to truly capture how pretty this is in person…I’ll be using this technique for a few more projects!

It’s Release Day and ALL of the new products are now available!  Whoop whoop!  My last project for Release Week uses a gorgeous new cutting plate, Argyle.  I fell in love with this cutting plate as soon as I saw it and knew I wanted to use Salt Water Taffy and Earl Grey with it.  I love summery, nautical things and decided to use the sentiment from Punny Man and the Little Bits Anchor.

Argyle

I braided jute twine for my rope and glued it into place.  Build a Tag 4 was a nice touch with Blue Corn card stock (this is one of my favorite card stock colors!) and kept the rest pretty simple.

Hi everyone, I’m back with Day 3 of Sneak Peeks and I had so much fun creating today’s sneaks!  I used Eventful and RSVP to make a simple, yet cute, baby shower invitation.  Eventful is great as it has lots of different occasions (or events) for making party invitations!

ShellyBabyShowerInvitationWed1

I dressed up my baby shower invite using Little Bits Onsie, Little Bits Baby Confetti and Little Bits Neckties.  The card stock and adorable onsie are from Double the Joy Matched Kit.

The plaid onesie and green tie are so cute together!

My card uses Under the Toadstool and Die Combo and what a fun fun set!  I had such a hard time choosing what images to use and settled on this cutie.  I kept my color scheme pretty simple and wanted to make a sweet scene.

Build a Scene Rolling Mountains and Build a Scene Rolling Hills helped create my magical place.  Shining Star Cutting Plate let me add some sparkly stars and I like how it brightened my scene.

Hi, guys!  It’s the 2nd day of Release Week and I have 2 more sneak peeks to share with you!  This card is perfect for Father’s Day and is from a new set called, My Favorite Dad.  How many can relate to this sentiment?  Ha!  I was one of seven kids growing up and there was always a debate on who the favorite child was.  LOL!  It was always in good fun and so, when I saw this sentiment, I had to go with it!

ShellyMyFavoriteDadWed1

There are some fabulous new products on my card…Summer Nights Matched Kit (LOVE this paper kit!) Brick Embossing Folder, Build a Tag 4 and Little Bits Follow Suit.  I also had to add a slight feminine touch with Mix & Match Mini Bows, but feel like I was able to get away with it due to the masculine colors!  ;)

ShellyMyFavoriteDadWed2

My 2nd card uses Starry Night Cutting Plate and can I tell you how much I love this cutting plate?  It has so many possibilities with it and I paired it with Downtown Border...another amazing new product.  I layered Starry Night with Salt Water Taffy and then used some glitter card stock for some sparkly stars.

ShellyStarryNightTues1

I stamped the sentiment (Of Thee I Sing) onto Banner Stacklets 2 and adhered it with a few extra stars.

It’s Release Week and I have two patriotic projects to get you ready for the summer!  My card uses You’ve Got Mail Patriotic and our new Matched Summer’s Night Kit.  That patterned paper, card stock, and sequins are so cute in this kit!

ShellyYouveGotMailPatrioticMon1

Do you have any of the You’ve Got Mail stamps?  I love Patriotic as it reminds me of hot, summer, nights and watermelon!  Ha!  My kids love the summer and I’m right there with them.  I used Stickles and the sequins from the Summer Nights Kit for my sparkly elements.

ShellyYouveGotMailPatrioticMon2

My 2nd project are Pencil Toppers using Patriotic Treat Toppers and look how fun they are!  My kids love pencils, #2 or mechanical, they are like their mom, and love a good writing pencil.  I layered my Patriotic Treat Toppers with Layering Doily Small and they are a perfect pair!

ShellyPatrioticTreatToppersMon1

Look how cute!  Even the sequins (Summer Nights Matched Kit) wanted to get in on the fun…here they are making my picture more festive!

Hello!  I have super cute card today using this sweet Onesie die.  I couldn’t help myself, I had to dress it up a bit.  I tried a few different combinations at first, but in the end, decided on this white onesie, with a little bling and a soft pink tutu.

ShellyOnesie4.24.2

The cute star is from Star Stacklets…I love the gold bling!  The “tutu” is part of a fabric flower I had.  I’ve fallen in love with Postage Stacklets too and used Double the Joy Matched Kit for the beautiful paper and card stock.  Look at that adorable skirt!

Hi guys, I’m back today with a card I made using Lea Lawson’s gorgeous card for inspiration!  I fell in love with her watercolored background and use of dies.  I had to give it a try!  For my card, I used watercolor card stock and some Gansai  Tambi watercolor paint to add some gorgeous blues and purples.

I just love the Bistro Lights cutting plate and used it with some giltter card stock.  This cutting plate is awesome in that it also includes a die that cuts the circles for layering.  I thought this theme was perfect for a Congrats (party) card…the sentiment is from P&P May Script.
