Hi guys! Today is Release Day and all of the new products are now available at Taylored Expressions. I really loved this release and had so much fun seeing all of the Creative Teams’ projects. Today I’m using Spring Tulips and Spring Tulips Die. I love the gorgeous yellows and reds in tulips, and so I embossed the image in white, and used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to color them.
The background is a new embossing folder, Butterfly Swirls and I embossed it with Buttercream Frosting card stock. I chose Frame in Frame Cutting Plate for my tulips and used foam tape to adhere it. I love how Salt Water Taffy and Earl Grey card stock really pull together the colors in the Tulips and vase. The sentiment was stamped on vellum and layered on the vase.

I used half of a Fabriano Medioevalis note card to emboss the feathers on. This is excellent paper for watercoloring and is so textured and yummy to work with. These embossing folders rock! They are 6×6 and nice and large, perfect for covering a whole card or 6×6 page.
Let’s take a closer look at how gorgeous this impression is. The embossing is nice and crisp, without tearing the paper.
Now it’s time to run the feather die through. I used wood paper and wrapped a bit of twine around them for a nice, earthy, look. I know my die looks a bit beat up, however, that’s what makes these dies so awesome….they take a beating and still cut perfectly!
I used a wash of yellow and red for my background and love how the two colors work together. These watercolors are Kuretake Gansai Tambi and come in different sized sets. This one is a set of 36 and the colors are rich, vibrant, and lush!
The last step was to adhere my watercolored feathers and feather die cuts to my card.
What do you think? I really enjoyed creating this card and can see this being done in a variety of colors, each with the same, beautiful, effect.

Good morning! Today I’m sharing a few cards I’ve made over the past few weeks. This card is made with an embossing folder by Darice and butterfly die cuts (Sizzix Bigz & Embosslit) from Stampin Up. Add a few dimensionals and pearls and I have a CAS (Clean and Simple) card that took only minutes to put together.
These two cards were made with a die (Feather Headband) from Lifestyle Crafts. I love this feather! Two feathers come in this set and the other one is quite a bit larger…but equally gorgeous.
This card was made with an embossing folder from SU and a Silhouette file. The flower was cut in multiple sizes with the Cameo and then layered to look like a snowflake.
My last card uses an adorable image from Woodland Critters (Whipper Snapper). I made a cutter file for the stamp, used a SAMJ (Stamp a Ma Jig) to line it up and adhered it with a dimensional. This little guy makes me smile…isn’t he spunky?

Owls have been so popular lately. I like the sets I’ve seen so far, but none of them really grabbed me. Well, last week I was in Archiver’s and saw these cuties by Hero Arts. I had found an owl set that I liked enough to get! Aren’t they cute? These were quick and fun to put together, and I love the 3×3 size. I even added some liquid applique to the cuff of the boots of the owl in the top hat. The cardinal and frog card are from Stampin Up. Thanks for looking!
