Good morning!  I’m back today with a few cards I made using a technique called Emboss Resist.  If you haven’t heard of it before, I first embossed my image in white, then applied Distress Ink to create the background.  I really like how you can use one color, or several colors to create your look.

For my cards, I used Simply Stamped Roses, which is a gorgeous stamp set meant to be layered.  However, as you can see, I used only one of the layers and embossed it.  The inks I used are Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans.  Once I was finished inking it up, I added a few spritzes of water and gently blotted it off.

I used the same technique for my second card but this time used Wispy Wishes and In & Out Thanks, Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry.  Instead of sequins I used Doodlebug Sprinkles for my accent detail.

Have you tried this technique?  There are so many wonderful ways to emboss resist, including watercolor.  Thanks for stopping by!
