In honor of World Card Making Day, Taylored Expressions has decided to host a month-long party filled with ultra fun challenges and prizes called the Stamp n’ Send Challenge!
What is Stamp n’ Send? Well, let’s start by asking how many of you have a ton of fab cards that you’ve made just languishing on your craft table? We want you to create and SEND those cards out! Each week, we’ll host a new challenge in the Taylored Expressions Member Forum at Splitcoaststampers.com.
For every card you make AND send (we’re trusting you to actually get those cards in the mail) you’ll be entered into a drawing for a spiffy prize. Plus, for EVERY entry, you will be entered into a drawing for a Grand Prize package worth $100 to help you make more cards!
It’s that easy! For EVERY card you create following the challenge requirements, you will be entered into this week’s prize drawing. PLUS, for EVERY entry, you will also be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for an amazing prize package worth $100!
All challenge details will be available on the Taylored Expressions WCMD Stamp n’ Send Challenge thread at Splitcoaststampers.com. Plus, look for details on how you can earn an extra entry by displaying the challenge badge on your blog!
Now, on to today’s challenge:
We’ve got our final World Card Making Day Stamp n’ Send Challenge for you! Remember, if you’ve missed our other challenges, there is still time to play along, so check out the
Taylored Expressions Member Forum for all the details.
Everyone needs a little encouragement now and again to get them past a hump in life. There are also those times to truly celebrate, those milestones and achievements that couldn’t have been done without the support of those we love.
We are challenging you to send either some encouragement to someone who needs it or some congratulations to someone who deserves it! To help you out, we’ve got a totally cute and fun Inspiration Photo from our very own Taylor Van Bruggen! She is the creative genius behind Taylored Expressions and she has this wonderful image to get you inspired!

So, to be entered into this week’s challenge prize drawing for a $10 Gift Certificate to the Taylored Expressions Store , simply follow these challenge requirements:
~Use Taylor’s Inspiration Photo and create an ENCOURAGEMENT or CONGRATULATIONS card
~SEND your card to someone who needs a positive nudge or who deserves some kudos!
~Come back to this thread and leave a comment telling us who you sent your card to, along with a photo of your card or a link to a photo of your card
Please note that Taylored Expressions stamps are not required to play along so everyone can participate
It’s that easy! For EVERY card you create following the challenge requirements, you will be entered into this week’s prize drawing. PLUS, for EVERY entry, you will also be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for an amazing prize package worth $100!

Here is my card for the challenge. I made it for a girlfriend who has had a rough year and is starting to come out on the other side. I would move the sun and moon for her if I could, but will have to settle for a card instead.

I used Best Nests and colored the image with Copics. The sentiment is from Mixed Blooms and the leaves are from an exclusive set, Falling For You (and the matching dies), which is part of the October Key Ingredients Kit. Check out how you can get this full sized set at 50% off through November 10th HERE. The patterened papers and card stock are all from the October KI Kit as well.

Hope to see you play along! Thanks for stopping by! :)

It’s time for the Baker’s Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.
The theme for August is:
PROJECT RUNWAY! Do you watch this show? It’s perfect for creative types like us! On PR, the designers are given crazy challenges each week and asked to maintain their own personal style or point of view in their creation.
So, what’s your stamping style or point of view? Would you consider your style to be CAS (Clean and Simple), Cutesy, Graphic, Vintage, Elegant, Layers & More Layers, or what? Describe it any way you like, it’s your style after all! Today’s challenge is to show us a couple of different projects using the same supplies. Show us one CAS card and one Fancy Fold card while still retaining your own personal style as much as possible.
My style tends to be CAS. I love that CAS cards can have the smallest details, yet still stand out. I admire how easy it is for some to do layered cards, but for me, I have the hardest time making them. Even my layered cards tend to be CAS in some way or other!

Even though these cards are completely different, I was able to keep a CAS feel on them, even with the fancy fold card. I love the use of white on my cards and find it relaxing to be able to use it. My fancy fold card is called a Spring Card and I used this tutorial I found on SCS. I’ve never made a Spring Card before and really had fun with it! It’s a unique way to give a card and the recipient will be sure to love it!

I used CreativiTea for both of these cards and adore how sweet these images are. They were colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The more I use these markers, the more I love them!
The layered card also uses Imaginisce Hello Cupcake and a handful of versatile dies.

Be sure to check out the creative styles of the rest of the Baker’s Dozen! What style suits you best?

What a fun week! All the new stamps and dies are now available at Taylored Expressions. Be sure to look in Fresh Out of the Oven and Current Specials to see all the new goodies and the current promotion (good through August 12).

Today I’m sharing Notepaper ALC and the Notepaper Border die. These new stamps and dies coordinate so well together and, of course, are absolutely adorable! I combined them with Happy Trails to make this fun card.

I stamped the images onto Choice Snow White with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copics. I used the Mini Tags die for the sentiment (love this die!), October 9 to 5 DP, and the Chevron Border die for my card base.
Here are the dies I used:

Yay! I’m so excited to share with you a fun new challenge! It was so fun looking at the sets I have and getting to share some of my favorites.
Taylored Expressions is introducing a new monthly challenge for the design team: The Baker’s Dozen Studio Challenge. This will be an opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.
The question for July is:
You are stranded on a desert island. The good news is that you find a fabulous stamping hut well-stocked with papers, inks and other stamping supplies, however you only have the 5 stamp sets you brought with you in the luggage you managed to salvage. So tell us, what stamps sets did you bring and why?

I chose these sets based on the the cheeriness of them. After all, if I’m on a desert island, I’d want to share some island cheer with everyone, right? I packed Adventure Land, Bon Voyage, Bikes & Trikes, Make it Amazing, and It’s Your Birthday ALC. Good thing I packed enough sets to spread the love, I might not want to be rescued since I have a fully stocked stamping hut!
My card uses Bon Voyage, a funny coincidence, since I’m stranded here! I stamped the ship onto Choice Snow White card stock with Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Copics. I used Echo Park’s Sweet Day patterned paper with the Wave Border die and the Waves/Bubbles Impression Plate with the Cloud Duo dies. Aren’t the swirly clouds cute? The anchor is from the Anchor and Preserver die and tied with Doodle Twine.

Here are the sets I chose:

And the dies I used:

I hope you all are having a great weekend! I have a fun card to share today. I love this A la Carte stamp It’s Your Birthday…it’s fun and colorful, and perfect for all ages. For this card I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Choice Snow White Cardstock, colored it with Copics, and accented it with a white gel pen.

The Seeing Stars die was the perfect accent to the card. I used Doodlebug glitter to add some sparkle to the stars and some foam squares for some dimension. The card base (which is a gorgeous shade!!!) is from the July KI Cardstock Kit and is my new favorite shade of red. A little sewing and I’m set!
Here’s Seeing Stars, lots of fun layering possibilities and so fun to use with glitter!

I hope everyone has been staying cool, it’s been a HOT summer so far! Thanks for stopping by!

Can I just say how much I love Taylored Expression’s July KI? This kit features Cosmo Cricket’s Tea for Two, some lovely embellishments, matching card stock, stickers and gorgeous ribbon.

I stamped Bikes and Trikes onto Choice Snow White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Copics.

I finished the card with a Prima wood button and sewed a decorative border along the bottom. I love how finished the card looks with this kit!

My second card uses the same kit but has such a different look and feel to it. I love the colors in this one. I used Hangin’ Out for this card…don’t you love the little bumble bee? The mason jar is a sticker that comes with the kit and the pearl and button add such nice, subtle, details.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you!
