TE March SOTM 2013

Hello, everyone, I’m back with a card using Taylored Expression’s March SOTM. I love this set and lately, I’ve been loving layers. I used MME Memorable (which coordinates with the SOTM), this paper is gorgeous! You can either get the SOTM delivered alone, or with the Key Ingredients Kit as a Deluxe Subscription. Either way, you won’t be disappointed!

I must be a girly girl, I love this color combination…and the flower and butterfly are soooo pretty!

TE March SOTM 2013

I used a variety of dies for this card and what I love about them is how well they coordinate together. I’ve used these dies over and over, they’re some of my favorites!

That gorgeous scallop die with the hearts is Medium Layering Doily die and it’s the perfect size to use alone or for layering. Label Stacklets 3 and Frame It Up 1 are also dies I use all the time and I love the various sizes of Banner Stacklets 2. Last but not least, the coordinating Make It Memorable dies are a must have, I loving making those images pop!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone!  I’m so excited to share with you Make It Memorable, the March SOTM, and it’s a gorgeous one!  SOTM(Stamp of the Month) stamp sets are exclusive to subscribers and are mailed to you each month.  What makes them special?  Besides the  deeply etched red rubber, they are made to coordinate with the patterned papers in the KI Kit Club.  You can subscribe to one or both as the stamps work well with the KI Kit Club or alone.  The best part is the SOTM stamps also have coordinating dies (sold separately).  Coordinating dies make cutting out your images SO easy!

I was thrilled to receive the stamps this month as they are beautiful and will be perfect for birthdays, thank yous, and for Mother’s Day, which is right around the corner.

For my tags, I used the sketch from DS92.  What a fun and gorgeous sketch!  I love all the layers and dimension in this sketch, thank you, Jen!

It’s time for the Baker’s Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The question for February is:

Recipe for success! When you sit down to create a card just for fun, for the pure joy of stamping, without any type of assignment or deadline, what steps do you usually take?  Tell us how you get started and take us along on your creative journey.

I usually like to get started using a sketch or stamp that gets me inspired.  From there I’ll pick out basic colors or a paper collection I want to work with and see if it feels right together.  Kind of funny, huh?  It has to feel like it coordinates or I have a hard time making it work.  My style tends to be CAS and I love anything that has a clean and crisp look with a main focal point and subtle details.

I am in LOVE with the Elegant Butterfly Overlay and Silhouette Stem dies and chose to use Silhouette Stems 3 for my cards today.  I love how clean the cuts come out…aren’t they pretty?

I was inspired by Tammie’s GORGEOUS cards in THIS post and used He Is Risen (another one of my favorites) for my sentiment.  I applied Glitter Glass to the Elegant Butterfly Overlay and love how it keeps the CAS style.

I had so much with this card that I made another one using Graphic Greetings Redeemer and used vellum for my die cut.

Do you see how these cards are similar, have different colors and stamps, but keep the same style?  This would be great for mass producing a lot of cards using different stamps and dies, but the same overall layout.

Hello, friends! It’s Friday and I have a gorgeous butterfly from A Day For Daisies new release, Musical Butterflies, to share with you. I think the musical notes on the wings are so elegant.  The butterfly I used, Freehand Butterfly 3, is 50% offand one I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up again.  It’s gorgeous!

I printed the image twice and covered the bottom image with glitter glass. The 2nd layer I colored with Copics and lined the wings with glitter glass. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, however, the texture is wonderful.

I used the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink) and Tessatina Border and Prim Poppy (both Memory Box dies) to keep my card CAS. I think this would make a great sympathy, birthday, or thinking of you card.

It’s my 2nd post today and I have a few things to share with you. I’m finding the dies at Lifestyle Crafts to be very versatile and oh so useful.

LC CD Holder 2

First I have the Disc Case Die, which is obviously meant for discs…or great for square cards that have dimension to them. It’s a perfect way to make a custom envelope and/or giving as a gift with a CD full of pictures for the grandparents.

LC CD Holder

The butterfly is from Pretty Peonies (PTI) and matched the Basic Grey DP I used so nicely. I love that the Disc Case Die comes with 4 different tags to mix/match. A little something for everyone!

LC Nesting Frames 9

The 2nd project uses Nesting Frames 9 and Nesting Butterflies. Nesting Frames 9 comes in a nice variety of sizes and is wonderful for layering. The largest die is a little over 5.5″ wide and seems huge. Perfect for scrapbooking, making larger cards, and cute little tags, I can tell I’ll be using these a lot.

LC Nesting Frames 9

Don’t forget that using Promo Code POP will save you 20% at Lifestyle Crafts! Thanks for stopping by, I’ll have more to share soon!

I’ve been wanting to play along for awhile and found a little extra time on my hands today. It’s my first time playing Tuesday Trigger and here’s the inspiration. Isn’t it gorgeous?

And here’s what I came up with.

TT VV1

I used a Krylon gold pen for the edges…it adds a nice pop in person.

TT VV2

Several layers make the image really stand out.

TT VV3

What do you think? I really had fun with the challenge. The butterfly is from Antique Flowers & Butterflies (Hero Arts) and colored with Copics. Looking forward to next week’s challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s release at A Day For Daisies is oh so sassy! This lovely lady is Perplexed and is part of the new release, Bewildered.

There’s also a new challenge up…Found Paper. Found paper can be anything, a receipt, ticket stub, phone book page, or in my case, a children’s dictionary that was in pretty bad shape. I used the dictionary paper for the flowers and butterfly. There’s also free digi available for you to play along with. Be sure to check out the ADFD blog to play along.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a great weekend!

A quick post today as it’s been a crazy busy past few weeks. Lots of doctor’s appointments, running around and in general, keeping up. :) I needed a sympathy card awhile back and used Cheery Lynn dies, PTI banner dies and stamps, and the small square is the Fleur de Lis die (Spellbinders). I cut a custom sized envie with my Cameo to fit the card as the banner makes it an odd size. Last year I bought a ream of Neenah Linen Solar White 24# writing paper to line my cards and found it works well for envelopes too. 500 sheets will last a long time! Thanks for stopping by!

I won a set of Card Creator dies from Stamping Scrapping! These dies will be released at the end of this month this summer, but these are the ATC Card Creator dies and are perfectly sized for ATCs with the layers. Thanks, Cindy! They made my layering a breeze and were so fun to create with! Here’s what they look like:

For this card I used three of the ATC Card Creator dies and Cathedral Lace (Cheery Lynn Designs). The mini roses were made with a McGill flower punch and the leaf/vine is a Sizzlet die. Stamp is from Words of Wisdom (Stampin Up, retired).

This card was made using ATC Card Creator dies, Spellbinders Creative Pages Two, and a butterfly die from Cheery Lynn Designs. I kept it pretty simple and only added some seam binding that I dyed. I have a lot to catch up on and will be back later for more. Thanks for stopping by!
