Tag Book Swap

This was made for the May KNK Swap over at Paperthreads. I saw a YouTube video where someone made this by hand and decided to make a cut file using my Klic n Kut. The tag book was very easy to make and is perfect for journaling those memorable moments or adding photos. The owl and frame on the cover are both from Lettering Delights, Sweet Nothings and Banner Day, and Labels 1 (Spellbinders) in the center. Floral Butterfly Card

Isn’t this a fun card? It’s part of Shelly’s Art Quarterly Membership. You get 20 cutter files for $10…now that is a steal. I didn’t use all the elements for my card, but you get layering mats and pieces…that’s .50 for over 15 cutting pieces for this one card. The cutter files come in GSD, AI, KNK, WPC and SVG…a little something for everyone.

Now for the deets…the stamped flowers, stamped butterfly, dies and mail are from Papertrey. The butterfly is a SU bigz die and the daisy is from Bosskut. I used Smooch on the daisy and love the soft shimmer it gives. I also used a Popkut flower from Bosskut and layered it with the Fleur Di Lis die from Spellbinders (inside). The sentiment was stamped and cut out with more Spellbinders. Thanks for stopping by!

Make & Take Mini File Folder

This mini file folder was part of a Make & Take offered by Jan of Sam & Hailey Designs over at the Paperthreads forum (you’ll need to be logged in). Isn’t it a wonderful file? If you’re like me, then you love anything to do with paper albums and/or folders. I used black card stock and Rockabilly dp (retired SU) for the folder. The butterflies are Chasing Butterflies and Just a Moth, by Just Laury. All files are available for your digital cutter (KNK, Gazelle, Cricut, Wishblade, Silhouette, etc) and can be used for just about anything. The white rose was made with McGill paper punches and I used Cryogen Iridescent White for the butterflies and rose.

The butterfly and rose have velcro attached to the back. To get the folder flat when it’s closed, you simply take the butterfly off and attach it to the belly band. Thanks for stopping by!

CAD Flowers

CAD is over now, but here are two more samples I made using Shelly’s flower for Customer Appreciation Days (CAD) at Paperthreads. For the first flower I used a stitching template (Quickutz), which is the metal circle you see, and stitched the flower and border with embroidery thread. I kept the flower as the focal point and added silk ribbon as my finishing piece.

For this card I made a fabric flower and used fabric bond (for iron ons). I left the paper backing on and cut it with the Gazelle (I used the regular blade). It cut beautifully. I cut two more flowers, one being slightly larger, and crumpled the smaller one. I put the smaller, crumpled flower under the fabric flower so it wouldn’t lay completely flat. I love dimension in my projects and this was a good solution. I used Nesties to cut the mat in the same fabric and added a few layers and feathers to complete the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Lace Heart

This weekend is CAD at Paperthreads and yesterday one of the challenges was to use vintage trim. I didn’t have any on hand so I airbrushed some lace with Copic E31 to give it an aged look. The heart is from Laury’s Lots of Hugs. Laury’s files are available in AI, GSD, KNK, WPC, and SVG…compatible with all types of cutters. The butterfly dies are from PTI and SU, and the buttons are PTI. Thanks for looking!

CAD Flower Freebie

Paperthreads is having their Customer Appreciation Days (CAD) going on this weekend. This flower is a freebie from Shelly’s Art and is so versatile! HERE is a link to her post where you can download the flower file in AI, KNK, GSD, SVG and WPC formats…a little something for everyone. I used the Gazelle to cut mine and they cut beautifully. I added two layers of seed beads and glitter (both by Martha Stewart) to create my flower. The picture below is what I started with…lots of fun ways to create with this flower! Spring Showers

This was for the February Sketch Challenge at PT. This is an amazing sketch and I had fun deciding what image to use. I used a digi stamp, Floral Umbrella (KBD) and re-sized the card to 5×5. Image was colored with Copics and pop dots were used give it dimension. Thanks, Shelly S, for the fun sketch!
