Echoes of Kindness is a Level 2 hostess set from Stampin’ Up. Isn’t it pretty? The coffee cup in the 2nd photo is from GinaK Designs. The last card is Mindy’s Zoo, a clear stamp set that I’ve always thought was cute. I used a retired palm leaf from Quickutz for the monkey and added some brown cording that’s used for jewelry. All images are colored with copic markers and the ribbon is from Martha Stewart. Thanks for looking!
I embossed the cross and used ink pads and re-inkers to watercolor the background and fill in the cross. The edges were then sponged with Close to Cocoa and distressed. I added hemp twine in an attempt to give it a rugged (or “rope”) feel. Thanks for looking!

In one of my previous posts I was getting my feet wet with 3×3 cards. I thought since I’ve sort of jumped back in I’d get my knees wet. Okay, kidding…humor can get warped when you have three little ones at home! LOL!

These cards are for the “Make a card & make a difference” promotion that GinaK is having. You can see her post HERE. My husband is a retired Marine and I felt a need to contribute. If we can make it easier for those who are serving to keep in touch with their loved ones, it is well worth the effort!
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how large the images were from GinaK Designs. They are not too large, but rather give a nice focal point to your card. Anyway last week’s Ways to Use It Challenge over at SCS was to use Specialty Paper. I had this gorgeous paper pack from K&Co and liked the gold foiling. I thought it matched perfectly with my image. I added some paper piercing, oregon rain drops and chocolate satin ribbon to complete the card.
The ovals were cut using Petite Oval Nestabilites…these ovals are perfect for sentiments, as well as large images. I bought mine at Cut@Home and got them with the VIP 40% coupon (look for the VIP Coupon tab). Marcie is wonderful and has always been very professional and quick to answer my questions.
