Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing a card from A Day For Daisies that uses Happy Schoolhouse. How sweet is this schoolhouse?

Happy Schoolhouse1

This schoolhouse looks a lot like one my sister lives in. It’s an old schoolhouse, out in the middle of nowhere, that’s been converted into a house and is really cool.

Happy Schoolhouse 2

I printed the image on to a Fabriano Medioevalis card and water colored the image with Tim Holtz Distres Markers. I love this happy scene!

Check out what the rest of the DT cooked up for you!

Last week Purple Onion Designs had a birthday sale and who was I to say no to a sale? Here are a few CAS cards I made using some of the goodies that found their way to my house. :)

These cards were watercolored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers on to some yummy Fabriano. I love the look and feel of Fabriano and forgot I had this in my stash. 4 boxes to be exact!

I used Rustic White (Papertrey Ink) for this card, another one of my favorites for card bases. I can’t wait to play around more with these adorable stamps! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello! I’m back with another card using the Key Ingredients Kit for August. I LOVE this kit, the gorgeous card stock, Prima Doodle Deux 6×6 pad, and all the elements in it, are perfect for fall!

AugKI1

My card uses Hangin’ Out and DS62 from Deconstructed Sketch. The images were colored with Copics on Choice Snow White and all papers, ribbon and washi tape are from the Key Ingredients Kit.

It’s time for the Baker’s Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for August is:

PROJECT RUNWAY! Do you watch this show? It’s perfect for creative types like us! On PR, the designers are given crazy challenges each week and asked to maintain their own personal style or point of view in their creation.

So, what’s your stamping style or point of view? Would you consider your style to be CAS (Clean and Simple), Cutesy, Graphic, Vintage, Elegant, Layers & More Layers, or what? Describe it any way you like, it’s your style after all! Today’s challenge is to show us a couple of different projects using the same supplies. Show us one CAS card and one Fancy Fold card while still retaining your own personal style as much as possible.

My style tends to be CAS. I love that CAS cards can have the smallest details, yet still stand out. I admire how easy it is for some to do layered cards, but for me, I have the hardest time making them. Even my layered cards tend to be CAS in some way or other! :)

Creativi Tea Aug Studio Challenge 3

Even though these cards are completely different, I was able to keep a CAS feel on them, even with the fancy fold card. I love the use of white on my cards and find it relaxing to be able to use it. My fancy fold card is called a Spring Card and I used this tutorial I found on SCS. I’ve never made a Spring Card before and really had fun with it! It’s a unique way to give a card and the recipient will be sure to love it!

I used CreativiTea for both of these cards and adore how sweet these images are. They were colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The more I use these markers, the more I love them!

The layered card also uses Imaginisce Hello Cupcake and a handful of versatile dies.

Be sure to check out the creative styles of the rest of the Baker’s Dozen! What style suits you best?

If you’re like me you like to display things that are important to you. Whether it is a picture, drawing, or an appointment you need to remember, magnets are a necessity!

PoolParty9

Today I’m sharing some fun summer magnets I made using Lifestyle Crafts newer release, Pool Party. They are the perfect size for magnets and make my display fun! I used 1/2″ round and business card magnets for my project. I will buy some super strong 1/4″ & 1/2″ magnets as they’re my favorite and hold like nobody’s business!

PoolParty14

Here’s a magnetic board I picked up at Joann’s for $6 (on sale). I really love how this turned out!

PoolParty12

PoolParty13

I used Aleene’s Paper Glaze and sprinkled glitter and MS beads on it while it was still wet. The effect is so cool and adds great dimension to the die cuts.

PoolParty11

I get so many drawings and notes from my kids and this will be a wonderful way to switch them up and show them off without it getting lost on the refrigerator.

Here are the dies I used:

Hello everyone! I have a quick post for the Cameo Spotlight Challenge before I run out the door. I used 3 Mason Jars and Vintage Sun for my card. I thought this would make a cute “Sending You Sunshine” card. A lot of sentiments would work well with this!

SunJar2

I layered vellum on the jar with the sun shape underneath and cut another sun for the top layer and added Stickles for some sparkle.

SunJar1

A little stitching and I’m pretty much set! Patterned paper is from Dots & Stripes (Echo Park). Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, everyone! Today I’m sharing an older (and gorgeous) set from Taylored Expressions. I adore this tea set and think it makes not only beautiful cards, but it’s also perfect for gift sets.

CreativeTea1

I stamped my images on to Choice Watercolor Cardstock with Ranger Archival ink. I usually use Memento Tuxedo Black ink for most (if not all) of my stamping, but when it comes to watercoloring, Ranger Archival ink is perfect because it doesn’t bleed. I didn’t heat set it but I know some people do. Versafine is another ink that’s good for watercoloring, though you’ll most likely want to heat set it.

This cardstock blends watercolors beautifully and I love the thickness of it. The quality is excellent and I was able to go over some spots several times without worrying about my cardstock breaking down and getting mushy.

CreativeTea2

I colored my images with Tim Holtz Distress Markers and have to say that I love these markers! I used them with a watercolor brush/pen. The colors were wonderful and I love that you can have soft or bold shades of the same color. These markers are not a perfect match to the other lines of Distress Inks, however, I do think they compliment them beautifully and offer even more blending goodness. :)

For this card, I used Creativi Tea and Life Saver (sentiment). I love the paper pad too, MME Hootenanny, which has so many gorgeous papers! I layered my image with the Medium Layered Doily Die, which is such a pretty die! The ribbon is from August’s KI Kit and was a perfect match with the patterned paper.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I’m recovering from my son turning 10 and a birthday sleepover. Not sure why they call them sleepovers since the kids never sleep! :)

Today I’m sharing a card that uses the newest release from Lifestyle Crafts, Pool Party. I’m loving summer and these dies make me happy!

PoolParty8

I used a combination of the Umbrella die, Sun die, Waves border die, and Sun & Clouds border die. The adorable sentiment is from A Year of Sentiments (Taylored Expressions).

Here are the dies I used:

Today, August 20-26, there’s FREE SHIPPING on all orders at Lifestyle Crafts…AND if you use my special code, POP, you’ll save 20% off any order. 20% and FREE SHIPPING? Now that’s a great way to start the week off!

Happy Friday everyone! This week’s release, Lemons For Sale, is so sweet! I absolutely LOVE all the images in this release!

lemonade1

I made a pocket to fit the lemonade packet and cut the glass of lemonade out by hand. A little glitter was perfect for the ice cubes.

lemonade2

There’s also a new challenge up, use yellow and polka dots. Be sure to check out the blog for more info on how to win store credit and to get your free image to play along! Be sure to see what the rest of the DT has to show you, there are some fabulous projects to see that will leave you drooling!
