Cards, Stamping, Die Cutting, Paper Crafting, Digital Cutting & More!

Monthly Archives: June 2012

It’s been a super fun week and I have one more project to share with you. All of the products are now available for purchase in the Taylored Expresions store. My last project features Moka DylanPearl’s Merman! Moka Dylan and Moka Pearl are part of the Moka collection illustrated by Nancy McKinney. He’s quite a catch, isn’t he? :)

MokaDylan1 - Taylored Expressions

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Choice Snow White card stock and colored with Copics. For the background, I used the new Waves/Bubbles Impression Plate and lightly airbrushed it. I also used the Wave Border die with Echo Park Paradise Beach patterned paper for the waves.

I think he’s such a sweetie…swimming the ocean for you!

Be sure to see what else the Baker’s Dozen has in store for you…there’s some amazing projects to share!

Come join the party! You’ll find tasty little morsels of inspiration presented by the Baker’s Dozen featuring everything that is Fresh Out of the Oven from Taylored Expressions!

Today I’m sharing a set illustrated by Emily Burger called Bon Voyage. What an adorable set! This set is perfect for Valentines, love notes, fun notes, cards, scrap pages…there’s lots of possibilities with this set!

BonVoyage1 - Taylored Expressions

My card today is a Joy Fold card and was fun to make! Here’s the tutorial and if you haven’t made one of these, Beate’s tutorial is easy to follow and a fun way to present a card.

Echo Park Paradise Beach patterned paper has such a fun style to it and worked well with my colors. I used Choice Snow White and colored the image with Copics.

BonVoyage2 - Taylored Expressions

BonVoyage3 - Taylored Expressions

The Wave Border die was a nice way to complete the scene and was stitched onto the card front. All sets come on a full color panel and store perfectly in the Mini Binder Boxes. You can fit 4 full sets to a box. The Petite set panels will store perfectly in the Petite Storage Cases and will fit 6 sets to a box.

Here’s the die I used today:

Dress1

Happy Friday! I’m sooooo glad it’s the weekend. It’s been a great week and I’m ready for some R&R. This week we’re featuring Gracie’s Closet and the dresses are simply adorable! I used Child’s Dress 10 and did some paper piecing, accented with Copics and chalk ink.

I used vellum and stitched it onto the background layer and added some crocheted lace. The butterflies are from SU (embosslits) and the DP is Graphic 45 Little Darlings. This paper is a great weight and wonderful for anything baby/small child related. The colors are so soft and pretty!

Thanks for stopping by…hope you all have a great weekend!

Yay!!! All of the new Taylored Expressions products are now available in the Fresh Out of the Oven Department.

Today is release day and we have some super fun projects to show you! My first card uses Coconut Cove and is illustrated by Apple Doodle Ink by Doug Applegate and is concepted by Jami Sibley . I love the images and sentiments in this set!

CoconutCove1 - Taylored Expressions

I used Copics on Choice Snow White card stock (love this stuff…it’s so smooth!) to color the image and airbrushed the background. The Cloud Duo dies and Wave Border die were perfect for my scene. I want to hop on a plane and take a permanent vacation here, don’t you? :)

CoconutCove2 - Taylored Expressions

Echo Park Sweet Day patterned paper made a nice background and Echo Park Paradise Beach helped create the beach and waves. A little jute and some sewing helped finish the card and I’m ready to take a vacation! LOL!

AdventureLand1 - Taylored Expressions

My second project today uses Adventure Land and is also illustrated by Apple Doodle Ink by Doug Applegate and is concepted by Sankari Wegman. It’s filled with fun and adorable images! Who wouldn’t love a day at the amusement park?

I used Copics on Choice Snow White card stock, airbrushed the background, and cut the image out with Circle and Circle Scallop Nestabilities. Echo Park Sweet Day patterned paper is such a pretty pack and was fun to use.

AdventureLand2 - Taylored Expressions

I used the tiny star from the Seeing Stars dies and adhered it to the center of the ferris wheel. Perfect fit! With all the summer birthdays we have, this card will be arriving at somebody’s door soon!

Here are the dies I used for today’s post.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT’s fabulous work and then go get what your heart desires, lol!

It’s sneak peek time at Taylored Expressions! How fun is it that we’re able to bring you July’s release in June? We just couldn’t wait for the fun to begin. Today I’m featuring Under the Sea and can’t believe how cute this set is! Nancy McKinney really worked her magic with these adorable undersea creatures and punny sentiments.

My card is perfect for any girl, or boy, or anyone who loves sea creatures. I used Copics to color the images, cut them out, and used Echo Park Paradise Beach patterned paper. Don’t you love how the paper matched my scene?

UnderTheSea1

Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities framed the sentiment nicely and the accordian ribbon was a nice way to finish the card. All the undersea creatures were attached with a 3D foam square (my favorite foam adhesive!).

MakeItAmazing2

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I know, Tuesday is an odd “Happy” day but I have a good reason. Two lucky ladies have been added to Taylored Expression’s Baker’s Dozen Design Team and I am one of them! Yay! I can hardly believe it but I was so thrilled to be asked to be a part of this amazing team. The other lucky lady is Shannon White. She’s a genius at coloring and her work shows it! Be sure to leave her some love!

MakeItAmazing

My card today uses Make It Amazing, which simply put, is a gorgeous set and so versatile. I used white embossing powder on vellum and die cut the butterflies with the matching dies, Elegant Butterflies. Frame It Up 3 is another die that matches this set and I used it inside of the square. The background paper is Lily Bee Design Buttercup and is one of my favorite paper packs!

If you’re not familiar with Taylored Expressions, be sure to check out the store. The stamps are rubber and mounted on cling and are excellent quality. If you’re in need of some inspiration, be sure to take a peek at the gallery.

If you’d like to get to know the other team members better, take a look at their blogs. You’re in for a yummy treat!

This post isn’t craft related…but was a big event for my 5 year old. She’s never had a hair cut (other than a bang trim) and she decided she wanted it cut short.

How do you say no to this face? :)

DSC_6664-1

Here she is holding her hair that will be donated…she’s so excited! She smiled the whole way through, even through the shampooing.

And the after! We had the stylist give her a strand of hot pink/red for fun. She loves her new do…and so do I!

It’s Friday! Today I have a beach scene to share with you. It’s part of the re-release, Beach Party. It’s also time for a new challenge…Texture! Check out the Texture Challenge at A Day For Daisies Blog. Don’t forget to get your freebie to play along!

My texture is the distressed edges and the little shell. I printed the image on watercolor paper and used Distress Inks, SU reinkers, and Derwent Inktense Watersoluable Pencils to color it. I kept it simple and distressed the edges and used jute to tie the shell and beads on.

FYI – The shop will be closed for new additions Friday 22nd-Sunday 24th. As a thank you for your support we will re-open with our summer SALE and a brand new release! Enjoy 15% savings on the entire store Monday, June 26th! See you there!

Today I have a few projects to share with you using Lifestyle Crafts’ new Corner It Kit and 4×4 Alphabets. Can you say WOW? The Corner It Kit dies are beautiful and are wonderful for tags, cards, photos, journaling squares, and the list goes on. I made a set of tags using the new Corner It Kit and combined it with the Tag It Kit. I used the new 4×4 Alphabet, Parade, on these and they were the perfect size for the tags.

This is what the dies look like AND if you have a digital cutter, you get a code for the cutting files included in the box.

Here’s a card using the Corner It Kit, Nesting Butterflies, and Tag It Kit. DP for the tags and card is from Lily Bee Design Buttercup…my new favorite DP!

I have two more cards to share using the new 4×4 Alphabets Parade and Lollipop.

This card uses Lollipop and the butterfly is from Make It Amazing (Taylored Expressions). Again, I used Lily Bee Design Buttercup DP…did I mention I love this pack? :)

My last card uses the new 4×4 Alphabet Parade and Ramsay from Whipper Snapper Stamps. A simple, but cute, birthday card, perfect for a little one.

As usual, use Promo Code POP to save 20% off your order at Lifestyle Crafts. Thanks so much for stopping by!

DS562

Happy Monday, everyone! I wanted to play along with the sketch challenge at Desconstructing Jen and this is what I came up with. This was a fun challenge and one that kept me thinking.

I used Make It Amazing by Taylored Expressions (aka TE) and the coordinating butterfly dies. The gorgeous roses are Prima Laraine Roses and the chic DP is Lily Bee Design – Buttercup. The paper in this pack is gorgeous and I love the muted grays in it!

DS561

I added some pearls to finish the card and used Copics (W7, W5, W3) for the butterflies. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!
