More samples of gift sets.  Fabriano cards really are a dream to work with.  They watercolor beautifully (and work well with Prismacolor Pencils and blending).  These note cards add an instant elegance to your work.  For this card I watercolored the sketched background and the ballet slippers.  I also added a tiny ribbon to the skirt.  I have been trying more simple cards so be on the look out for more to come!

I have been wanting to make a few gift sets and finally sat down to try a few samples out.  The background of the card was stamped with Pretty In Pink and the background of the image watercolored with Almost Amythyst.  Dazzling diamonds was added to the shoes and leotard.  Very sparkly in person!

A fun card using Simply Said and Bashful Blue.  I cut out the smallest scalloped rectangle from my Nestabilities set (so cute!).  I don’t have the square set although I think they would probably make some really adorable inchies.  The rectangle is on a dimensional and had some Stickles added.  I love the ribbon!

Simple card on Shimmer White card stock, accented with a Copic Spica glitter marker.  Rose red ink and card stock, sticker stripe is from the Secret Garden SS kit (retired).

Another card on Shimmer White card stock.  I am finding that I use this card stock on just about everything, it blends beautifully and I love the shimmer.   I have heard that it is also great for watercoloring but have not tried that yet.  Background paper is from the Secret Garden SS kit (retired).  I also stitched the border with my sewing machine, sentiment is from See D’s 262 set.

I just love these little birds, I used shimmer white card stock and blender pens with ink pads to color the image.  A Copic Spica glitter marker was added for some extra sparkle.  The card base is Creamy Caramel and the edge of the image was distressed with my scissors.  My kids love it when I distress with my scissors….as it “rains” paper shavings all over the place!

Another needed sympathy card. I used the rectangle Nestabilities for the embossed border and added a subtle shimmer to the border with a Copic Spica Glitter Marker in clear.

Happy January!  I started out the year with my 15th anniversary.  15 years seems like a long time and should technically, make me feel old.  However, as my friend Dianne pointed out, I was like 12 when I got married! (Okay, totally kidding, but we were pretty young!).

I started out with a completely different idea in mind but was unable to make it happen on paper.  I wanted something simple and pretty.  I used the Tres Chic background stamp and embossed the words Heartfelt Love and the heart.  The Crop O Dial was used to punch the holes for the crystal brads.  Purely Pomegranate is excellent at standing alone with white or vanilla card stock.
